Supply-LINQ’s customers and employees are it’s greatest assets. The company is committed to providing the highest level of service by working with its customers in an environment of continuous improvement through the introduction of new technology, superior systems, staff training and development.
Work performance and service quality is enhanced by giving responsibility to Supervisors on the shop floor. The flat management structure drives the efficiency and effectiveness of the business. It has enabled the company to react quickly to opportunities and requests from current and potential customers.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and the Environment
Supply-LINQ considers CSR a part of its values and practically performs this in three areas :
1. The Environment and Recycling.
Supply-LINQ actively pursues solutions to reduce the environmental impacts of its services. A waste reduction program has been implemented where plastic and cardboard is compacted for recycling, timber from pallets is sent to a recycler for converting into compressed board and cartons are re-used for packing. All these examples significantly reduce energy used in transport and reduce waste placed in land fill.
All forklifts are either gas or electric, thereby reducing carbon emissions. Toner printer cartridges are recycled and there is an active program of recycling paper in administration. Paper that is printed on one side is collected and printed on the reverse side where possible. For internal printing, used printing paper is printed on the un-used side as shown on our emails.
2. Staff Training and Workplace Health and Safety
Supply-LINQ actively encourages its staff to improve their work and life skills through a combination of internal and external training courses.
Training and development has a high priority in the business. Over the past 3 years, all supervisors have either attended internal training courses or completed their Certificate III in Warehousing and Distribution.
Supply-LINQ is committed to the safety and health of our employees and providing a safe place of work at all our facilities.
3. Assisting Charities
Where possible Supply-LINQ donates damaged and returned goods to local charities including the Brotherhood of St Lawrence, St Vincent de Paul, the Australian Red Cross and the Uniting Church’s Asylum Seeker Project.
In 2008, the management team commenced Operation Bulawayo Orphan. New and used clothing and school materials were sent to a local charity in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe called Support Group for Families of the Terminally Ill (S.G.O.F.O.T.I) Money was raised by selling bookmarks to staff and friends made from worthless high denomination Zimbabwe currency. Some of our customers have donated clothing to the programme and Supply-LINQ staff continue to donate books, education material and clothing.
